WRC remains closed at Alert Level 3

Kia ora all Members,

As you will be aware NZ will move to Covid-19 Alert Level 3 on Tuesday 28th of April.

This raises the question of when and how members can start using the club’s facilities again.

The answer is NOT YET.

While some individual recreational activities are permitted under Level 3, sports like rowing do not fit that bill due to the shared nature of equipment.

Rowing NZ has also issued advice that under Alert Level 3 all clubs, erg rooms, offices, and facilities should be closed and all activities suspended.

Therefore, the Wellington Rowing Club will stay closed during Level 3

The Board will continue with developing guidelines for future levels but will make no firm decisions until Government guidelines are updated.

Keep up the fitness training but please stay safe and healthy in your bubbles, practice physical distancing, wash your hands, and be kind.

Kind regards
Sam Seath
