Porirua Goodwill

Well done to all the Wellington Rowers attending the Porirua Goodwill regatta. Despite the delays and bad weather, everyone was patient and helpful off the water and acquitted themselves well on it. WRC had a little over half our athletes there, with Onslow College not attending and St Pats away on camp, despite this, we were neck and neck for much of the regatta, eventually dropping back by 11 points. A couple of interesting points to consider before the next regatta. Star BCC had 120 entries to our 44 and in the boys U19 and U17 events, Star BC won 19 points where we had no entries. The points table is shown at the bottom of this post.

We can’t take a lot out of a much shortened course, but it seems our novices men and women are on track for another good year, winning all but one of their events with the novice women putting 3 experienced crews behind them to finish an admirable second in the women’s club 8.
