Maadi Cup, Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel 2014

The Wellington Rowing Club had a very successful Maadi Cup regatta last week. Marsden, St Pats and Onslow all took squads down to compete, and came away with the following results:


4 A Finals, 5 B Finals, 1 C final, 1 D final

GOLD in the B U17 1x: Hayden Robertson. This was Onslow College’s first Maadi Gold Medal in over 30 years.

BRONZE in the B U18 LW 4+: William Fahey, Angus Todd, Will Pearson, Josh Blackmore and cox Dion Blackmore

Two more A finals for both the B U18 2x and the B U17 4+, and a top ten pin for the B U18 LW 2x. The B U16 4x+, B U16 4+ and B U18 2- all placed in their B Finals.

On top of this William Fahey, Hayden Robertson, Shay Graham, Angus Todd and Dion Blackmore have all been offered trials for the U18 North Island squad.

BRONZE in the B U15 2x: Daniel Ward and Josh Ngaia.

A final for the B U17 8+

The B U15 4x+ had a convincing win in their B final, and the B U16 4+ also had a solid race in their B final.
